"Whatever disunites man from God, also disunites man from man...When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle."

Coat of Arms and Motto of Ontario

"Loyal she began, loyal she remains."
Today marks United Empire Loyalist Day in Ontario, Canada when the 'The Constitutional Act' created the province of Upper Canada June 19th 200 years ago to this day.  The United Empire Loyalists were English colonists who sought refuge in Canada after the 18th-century American Revolution led to the the separation of the thirteen colonies from the British Crown.  Alongside their French and Indian allies, these Loyalist settlers successfully defended their new homeland from American invasions.  Without their loyalty and military service to the Crown, the twin pillars of constitutional monarchy and parliamentary democracy  would not have established both the Province of Ontario and the Dominion of Canada.
