Remembrance Day 2009

Remembrance Day this year was especially solemn with Prince Charles attending the ceremony at the National War Memorial in Ottawa. He was joined by the Governor General, Michaelle Jean, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and thousands of onlookers including veterans from the Second World War, the Korean War, and subsequent peacekeeping missions around the world. In an especially heart-wrenching ceremony, Defense Minister Peter Mackay stood with Canadian military families at the Remembrance Day Ceremony at Kandahar Base where recently fallen Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan were vividly remembered.

Dedicated to the Canadian Forces, and Royal Canadian Mounted Police that serve this country, and to those who are lost.
