Detainee Scandal Not Looking Good for the Prime Minister

Save to delicious Saved by 0 users

The Prime Minister has so far avoided answering questions on the testimony of diplomat Richard Colvin on 18 November 2009 before the Special House Committee on the Mission in Afghanistan. It is easy to understand why with new reports that the Prime Minister's Office issued directives in 2007 to deny any knowledge of detainee abuse. Furthermore, the government's official line that no credible evidence of torture existed are being further contradicted by other governments, human rights agencies, and media outlets from around the world.
